IMMERSION IN OPERATIVE DENTISTRY TEACHING AND RESEARCHING AT UofT

Experiencing, in loco, undergraduate and graduate Dentistry teaching at University of Toronto, aiming to be better prepared to guide students on their academic education based not only on career and scientific guidelines, but also on a reality naturally different from the Brazilian and the USPian ones. Shadowing pioneering research thinking and methods, especially related to catechins in Restorative Dentistry, dentin matrix degradation and bioinspired resins applied to dental materials, to apply them in further projects as the PI and mentoring graduate students. Therefrom, and recognizing research as a natural implication of teaching at a University, qualifying for producing knowledge that contributes to the understanding of the unknown or to the questioning of the established and for publicizing the results to peers and society.
